The Book Shelf

This shelf is home to some of the books that have found their way onto my top reading shelf over the years.

They are the books I've returned to, recommended to friends, highlighted, dog-eared, and thought about long after I'd finished the final page. Some have challenged the way I think, some have taught me something new, and others have simply arrived at the right time.

If you're looking for inspiration, practical tools, fresh perspectives, or a good place to start your own wellness journey, you'll find some of my favourites here.

about

Sophie Galloway

Hi, I’m Sophie — a fitness and wellness professional with more than 20 years of experience across fitness, mindfulness, and fast-paced global work environments.

My background spans everything from high-energy group fitness and Pilates to meditation and breathwork, alongside years spent working in entertainment and cruise ship environments with people and cultures from all over the world.

For decades, I worked long hours in demanding environments where maintaining balance, energy, and focus wasn’t always easy. Like many people, I found myself searching for practical tools to support both physical and mental wellbeing — especially during stressful periods and major life transitions. As I began navigating perimenopause, I became increasingly interested in the connection between brain health, movement, mindset, and emotional resilience. The more I learned, the more convinced I became that training the brain is just as important as training the body, particularly during periods of change.

About a year ago, a friend and I attended a retreat that didn’t quite align with what we were looking for, so we went home and created our own. I curated the movement sessions, brain-based activities, breathwork, journaling, and learning experiences; she created the nourishing meals. We swam, walked, talked, learned, reflected, and rested. At one point she looked at me and said, “You should do this for a living.” And something clicked.

From that experience — combined with years of learning, exploring, and working with people from many different walks of life — Wellness Cupboard evolved.

My goal is to make wellness feel more accessible, practical, and adaptable — not something reserved for luxury retreats or perfect routines. Through customised retreats, workshops, and simple everyday tools like affirmations, breathwork, movement, and brain exercises, I hope to help people discover small habits and strategies that support greater calm, clarity, productivity, balance, and overall wellbeing in everyday life.

Wellness isn’t about perfection. It’s about discovering the tools that help you feel more grounded, connected, and at ease — one small habit at a time.
